Today will be a quiet Winter day with temperatures just a little below normal. Highs will top out in the low 20s this afternoon. We will start out with cloudy skies and a few flurries then some breaks of sun will develop. Winds will be out of the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Overnight the wind will turn to the south and this wind will warm temperatures up for Tuesday. Highs should rise into the lower and middle 30s. Skies will turn cloudy and there might be a few light snow showers or flurries by late afternoon as a low pressure system passes by to or north. This same storm system could produce some scattered light snow and flurries on Wednesday as well. Little accumulation is expected but a few spots might have a dusting up to a half-inch. Highs on Wednesday will once again be in the low to mid 30s.
The weather will turn a little cooler again on Thursday with variable clouds and highs in the 20s. Another low pressure system passing by to our north will bring a 60% chance of light snow Thursday night into Friday. This storm system might bring a couple of inches accumulation to the Northwoods during this time frame with lesser amounts in central Wisconsin. Conditions will be mild yet on Friday with highs in the low to mid 30s.
A cold north wind will develop Friday night and this will create chilly conditions for Saturday. Some sun could be breaking out for the first day of the weekend, but highs will only be in the teens and there will be some wind chill to contend with. More clouds and a slight chance of snow will develop for Sunday as highs rise back into the low 20s.
Have a wonderful Monday! Meteorologist Justin Loew, Morning Update, 7 February-2022
